Samsung Galaxy S3 review, feature and price in india

Very much hyped Samsung Galaxy S3  finally reveled by Samsung and will be released on 29th may 2012 and available in UK from 30th may 2012.

Specs of galaxy S3 many times leaked and rumored over the internet.  Let us see what are the final specs and features of galaxy s3-

Galaxy S3 is run by an Exynos 1.4GHz quad-core Cortex-A9 processor and 1GB of RAM. The software is Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich. It uses the latest TouchWiz software with a four column UI. Galaxy S3 having a 720 x 1280 pixels, 4.8 inches, Super amoled capacitive touch screen little higher as compared to galaxy s2 (4.3 inch and 480×800 resolution).

If we see the dimensions of Galaxy S3 then these are 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6 mm as compared to 125.3 x 66.1 x 8.5 mm of galaxy S2. Also it is heavier than its predecessor by 17 gram (133g as compared to 116g for galaxy S2)

Galaxy S3 is powered by a huge 2100 mAh battery and accompanied by a microSD and a microSIM card slots (no more regular SIM). The internal storage will come in three capacities – 16GB, 32GB and 64GB.

Samsung Galaxy S3 features

There are several cool new usability features – most notably eye tracking and new voice commands. The eye tracking switches the display on and off, depending on whether the phone sees you looking at it (Samsung calls this Smart Stay). For this it uses its front camera to note down that you are looking towards its screen or not , if you are continuously looking at screen than it does not dim or off its screen a very good feature. Samsung has also extended the voice command capabilities of the smartphone – the latest offering is called S Voice.

S Voice is obviously Samsung’s own software as like Apple’s Siri. You can activate it by saying “Hi Galaxy!”. You can ask it about the weather, but you can also ask the phone to take a picture. Language support is its strongest weapon – besides English dialects, S Voice also understands Italian, German, French, Spanish and Korean.

The Galaxy S III also comes with a feature called Smart alert – when the phone detects that you have picked it up, it will vibrate if you have missed events.

The innovation doesn’t stop here – Pop-up Play allows you to move the video player into a small floating window and continue watching while using another app. In mobile phone it’s not looking a great feature but if you are doing multi-tasking than it is a good feature.

Samsung Galaxy S3 Build ,Design & Screen-

With a 4.8-inch screen on board with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels and 306ppi, the Galaxy S3 is slightly longer, wider and fatter than the galaxy S2 with 4.3 inch and 480×800 resolution 218ppi screen. Once again the screen uses Super AMOLED technology, to keep the viewing angle as wide as possible.

Although the extra thickness may actually make the Galaxy S3 slightly easier to hold and less likely to slip from your hand, particuarly when taking a photo.

The slightly rounded design means that the new phone has more in common with the looks of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus than with the S2, although the plastic finish on the back feels more premium than its predecessor.

The Galaxy S3 has the usual Home button along with Settings and Back touch controls on either side, while the front-facing camera has moved from the left to the right of the screen.

The brand takes it’s ‘Inspired by Nature’ theme through to the finishes – you can choose from Marble White and Pebble Blue.

Samsung Galaxy S3 camera-

We were expecting that Samsung Galaxy S3 will come with at least 12MP camera but 8MP camera disappointing us but galaxy s3 come up with some extra features like burst shot mode, which lets you take 3.3 shots per second. The phone also tracks people’s faces and can automatically pick the best one of the several photos taken in quick succession.

Face zoom allows you to zoom in on peoples faces with a double tap. Face detection features continues – the software will automatically group photos, based on the people in the shot.

Much like the HTC One series, the Samsung Galaxy S3 can take photos while recording 1080p video. The video camera has video stabilization, too.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 has a notification LED to the left of the ear piece.

Samsung Galaxy S3 performance-

We think that dual core processors are much enough for a smartphone but is very good to have quad-core in the board it is very fast (fastest) and snappy you will not found any lag when we call an apps or navigate or uses many features , do multitasking in galaxy s3 , it is just firing apps of the phone.
The S3 sports 1GB of RAM (the same as the S2), while the Flash memory is available in 16, 32 and 64 GB versions, improving on the S2’s 16GB offering, while there’s also a micro SD card slot should you wish to expand the memory. There’s also 50GB of free storage for your content on Dropbox for the next years, which is double what HTC is offering on its HTC One X.

Samsung Galaxy S3 Battery-

The Galaxy S3 packs a 2100mah battery, compared to the S2’s 1650mah battery. Obviously we haven’t had our hands on the phone long enough determine exactly how much difference this will actually make, the presence of a more powerful processor (not to mention all the extra features) will certainly require more juice of battery.

Samsung Galaxy s3 Pros & Cons-

Plus point-

  1. Very fast quad core processor, 1GB RAM
  2. Latest Ice Cream sandwich Android OS
