Sony Xperia S – A 1.5Ghz ,1GB RAM, 12MP, 4.3” Full HD Smartphone

Sony Xperia S , the winner of CES 2012 hot stuff awards, which leaked numerous times as Nozomi, finally went official under the name Sony Xperia S.

Sony Ericsson now becomes Sony Mobile after acquiring of Sony Ericsson mobile phone unit by Sony. In future, you will find the mobiles from Sony brand not from Sony Ericsson. According to Sony this integration will provide their customers better and easy connectivity with other Sony products including TVs, PCs and tablets to allow you to share content seamlessly across multiple screens. There will also be more opportunities to enjoy premium entertainment content from Sony including music and film services from the Sony Entertainment Network.

The first smartphone product from Sony, available this spring, will be the Sony Xperia S. This is a very stylish, sleek and sexy smart-phone from Sony if you see the feature & spec of this phone you will definitely fascinate by this phone.

Take a glance on Sony Xperia S specs

  •  Android 2.3 Gingerbread
  • 4.3-inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 (LED-backlit LCD, capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors)
  • 1.5GHz dual-core processor with a MSM8260 chipset
  • 12 megapixel camera with Sony Exmor R sensor and 1080p video recording capabilities
  • 32GB internal memory

As for the handset, the Sony Xperia S is definitely a desirable phone; the most obvious of these is the see-through strip near the bottom of the device. On the front of the chassis you have the touch buttons to control the phone and the whole thing has a nice soft feel.

In the hand, the Sony Xperia S feels great – It is a very thin phone of thickness 10.6mm.

Sony has managed to cram its Sony Exmor R technology into the phone and Sony Xperia S boasts a fast capture speed of just 1.5 seconds. The display on the Sony Xperia S is 4.3 inches, and is of course a Reality Display. When it comes to pixel count, it’s 1280 x 720 full HD display.

At the back of the Sony Xperia S resides a 12-megapixel camera with Sony’s Exmor R backlit sensor, while at the front there’s a 1.3MP camera for video calling purposes.

Sony has given the phone a dual-core 1.5Ghz processor. The heavy-lifting is done by a MSM8260 chipset with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM. The Xperia S offers 32GB of internal storage but there’s no expansion option.

Other features of note include an HDMI port, NFC and Bravia Sync, and the Android smartphone is PlayStation certified. The Sony Xperia S will be available in two colors – silver and black.

Unfortunately it is one that comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread. However, Ice Cream Sandwich will be ported to the device in the second half of 2012.
