3 Ways to remove watermark from PDF

In this post we will tell you, how to remove watermark from pdf. Watermark are generally placed on the documents for copyright purpose. Some watermark also put on the document due to considered them as DRAFT, ORIGINAL etc. So that anybody should not use them for any other purpose.

In our earlier post we have described how to remove scanned by camscanner watermark from scanned documents.

Watermark can be placed through MS word tools and thereafter converted to PDF. Another way to place watermark in PDF is using some PDF editor software e.g. Adobe Acrobat editor or Foxit Phantom editor.

Watermark those are placed through PDF editor software can be removed again by using PDF editor. But the watermark or logo placed by MS Word document are difficult to remove.

We have tested removing watermark from PDF using Foxit phantom PDF, that was originally placed using MS Word. But Foxit editor not able to recognize the watermark.

1. Remove watermark from PDF using Microsoft Word

For this purpose, at least one of the MS office e.g. MS Office 2013, 2016, 2019 or MS Office 365 should have installed in your PC. Using MS office latest versions, you can also edit a PDF document.

Steps for removing watermark from pdf documents:

• Right click on the PDF document and open with MS Word, this will ask you to convert PDF to word. Allow the software to convert into Word document.

• After converting PDF to word document can be easily edited.

• To remove watermark, go to design tab of MS Word, now click on the watermark tab, here you will found “remove watermark” option.

• After removing watermark save the document again to PDF by save as option.

By the above method, a PDF document that was originally converted from MS Word will be edited without disturbing the original style and table etc. of MS Word.

But if you have a document that is scanned copy of any original document, then it would be difficult to maintain original style, formatting, tables etc. However, watermark will also be removed when you convert a scanned document to MS Word document.

2. Remove watermark from PDF using Google Drive

Upload the PDF file into the Google Drive. Now open the file using Google doc, it will covert the PDF into google doc format. And watermark will also be removed during this process.

You can now download the document again File>Download>PDF format.

But using Google Drive method, formatting and other things like style, tables, etc. will get disturbed.

Using OneDrive PDF documents can also be converted to word document. But Watermark removing you will need either one drive premium or MS office 2013 or higher installed in your PC.

3. Removing watermark using online tools
