Aakash II tablet to be launched in Mid 2012, booking started. Aakash  tablet (Ubislate-7) claims to be world’s cheapest tablet already launched on October, 2011. Now it’s advanced version Aakash-II or Ubislate-7+ is going to launch in mid-2012. In a meeting with Datawind (manufacturing company of Aakash), HRD Minister Kapil Sibal had indicated that the improved version would be launched soon. He had said several other manufacturers including ITI would be involved in manufacturing it.

Datawind, the maker of the device, has so far delivered 30,000 pieces and would deliver the remaining 70,000 units as per the revised specifications, Sibal said, while admitting that there were differences between the ministry and Datawind over the products but these would be resolved.
