What is Chromecast:
Chromecast is a thumb-sized media streaming device that plugs into the HDMI port on your TV. Simply use an Android phone, tablet, iPhone®, iPad®, Mac® or Windows® laptop, or Chromebook to cast your favourite entertainment and apps right onto the big screen.
With Chromecast, your phone is your personalised remote control. You can use it to search and browse, play, pause, rewind, control the volume and even make playlists. While casting, you’re free to use your phone for other things.
Your friends and family can cast to the TV using their own phone or tablet too – with no additional setup required. Everyone can sit back and enjoy together on the biggest screen in the home.
If you have smart TV with wifi direct than you need not required chromecast as most of the high end Smartphones has screen mirroring feature so that you can directly stream your mobile media with your smart TV using wifi router. TV and Smartphone should have been connected on the same access point, there is no need of internet connection for screen mirroring, because data transfer between smartphone and Smart TV through Wifi – router. But using laptop you can not stream all the media if laptop not having wifi direct enabled graphics card. In some cases you can stream videos from laptop to Smart TV if your TV has this facility.
