Google Plus shutting down from April 2- download your important data

Recently Google Plus users get an email that their Google Plus shutting down from April 2. After this, you will not be able to access your images, posts saved on Google Plus Profile and pages.

As per Google’s announcement via their blog, in Oct 2018 and Dec 2018. Google is shutting down Google Plus due to low usage and engagement of users. More than 90% users spent less than five minutes on their Google Plus sessions.

Further, due to bug reported on Google Plus API, they have decided to shut down this service by April’ 2019.

Google has put lot of efforts to create this social forum and invest a lot to maintain it. However, as popularity of this social media is decreasing day-by-day Google has finally decided to shut down this.

People who spent their time on the era of Orkut know that this was the first social media platform established. However, after launch of Facebook, Orkut come on back foot. Later Google launched their Google Plus social media forum, but the same was not able to become popular in front of Facebook.

As per Google’s announcement people, those are using to sign in on various websites using Google Plus shall also not able to login. Therefore, they requested to migrate on another method to easy access at their websites without facing any issue.

Before shutting down of Google Plus account, users are advised to download their important data from Google Plus profile and pages. As Google, will going to delete user’s data from their servers after April’2019 in phased manner.  Users can download their photos, videos from their profiles and pages. However Photos those are saved on Google Photos shall not be affected for use.

Go to this link after sign in into your Google Plus account. Select the items you want to download, by default all options are checked automatically. For example circles, community and stream data. Now go to next, choose file type .zip or .tgz. You can choose the delivery method as receive link via email for download, add to Google Drive, add to Dropbox etc. Now click on the create archive, after finalization you will get the archive file as per the delivery method. After completing this process users can delete their account.
