Samsung Galaxy Grand review, feature and price in India
Galaxy Grand is dual sim android phone by Samsung. After huge success of big screen phones like Galaxy S3 and Note II now Samsung launched 5” display size galaxy grand. Galaxy grand is a mid range budget phone with price tag of 21500/-.
Look wise Galaxy Grand is very similar to the S3 or note-2 , it can also be considered as another sibling of Galaxy S series or a phablet. Samsung Galaxy Grand has 5 inch display with brilliant visuals and superb quality of resolution on screen. Galaxy grand runs on 1.2 GHz dual core processor with 1 GB RAM and Android v4.1 (jelly bean), the latest version of android OS. It has very fast, fluid and smooth experience because of jelly bean operating system. It has the latest version of the company’s Touchwiz UI. The GPU of grand is not the typical Adreno or Mali chipset but is a Broadcom Video Core IV. Thanks to the low resolution screen, this GPU manages to pump out very similar performance to the GPU in the Note II.
The Samsung Galaxy Grand has 8 MP primary cameras with full high definition video recording at 1920 X 1080p at 30 frames per second and secondary camera is upgraded to 2 MP. Samsung galaxy grand has WVGA (800×480 pixels) display. Is has also multi window option which is help do multitasking on screen.
Its internal memory storage capacity is 8 GB and external memory storage is expandable upto 64 GB with micro SD card slot. Samsung grand is a good option for the people those want to have note-2 like phone but not able to afford 35000/- for it.
In Galaxy grand two regular-sized SIMs are used and using SIM Card Manager app in Settings, or from the notification bar, you go from one card to the other with a tap, while the phone supports dual standby mode as well.
The SIM app lets you manage the level of connectivity – for example, you can tell the handset to allow an incoming call from the other card while you are using data with the SIM currently set as default.
Samsung grand powered by a 2,100 mAh battery, just like the one it has for the Galaxy S III, and hasn’t listed official talk and playback times yet. The dual-standby capabilities of the phone, however, might take more than the usual toll on the battery life, as the phone has to stay hooked up to more than one network at a time.
Conclusion
Big 5” screen is a definitely a plus point for galaxy grand but its 480×800 WVGA low resolution may disappoint for some. Other plus points are its price and multi window option. The main disadvantages are that its plastic feels, comparatively low battery life as per dual sim and large display. Dual core processor with 1GB RAM. But definitely it can be said that galaxy grand is now selling like a hot cake due to Samsung Brand and its bigger size, dual sim and low price.
